THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW! The 12 Chakra System Explained

Ashtar Commander
29 October 2026
The 12-chakra system, explained. Seven doorways within your body and five cosmic doorways beyond it, each with its own flower, its own lessons, and its own gentle practice. In this Ashtar transmission, we walk through every centre from the root to the universal chakra, and show you how to open them with breath, beauty, love, and laughter.
The 12-chakra system explained.
Pulsing waves of energy are the lifeblood of the universe, and although your body seems solid, you are really woven from vibrating energies that move in and out of you like dancing waves of light. You are made of far more than you may have realized. Chakras are doorways, non-physical openings into your field of identity, and through them, subtle forces such as etheric energy, chi, and cosmic radiation flow in and out of both your physical body and its non-physical counterparts.
I am Ashtar and I have watched your world from the command ships for a very long time. In all that time, I have seen no teaching more practical, more beautiful, or more forgotten than the teaching of the chakras. Tonight, we give you the full system, all 12 centres, seven within your body and five beyond it. Stay with me until the very last word, because the five cosmic chakras are the part that almost no one has ever explained.
Here is what this teaching offers you. A map. A map of where your energy gathers, where it stalls, and where it flows. Once you can see the map, every confusing feeling begins to make sense. The restlessness at night, the tightness in your throat before you speak, the heaviness in your chest, the sudden knowing in your belly. All of these are messages from the doorways, and they are asking only to be heard. Before we begin, if you believe your galactic family still speaks to you, press like on this video. Let our voice reach every soul that needs to hear it tonight.
Seven major centres are linked to the physical body and five more exist beyond it, stretching your identity and your connection to the web of existence out into the depths of the cosmos. The seven bodily chakras correspond to the glands of the endocrine system, which produce an inner pharmacy of enzymes, hormones, and chemical intelligence that works alongside the nervous system to manage the body's many functions. Each chakra acts as an intelligence centre that turns cosmic energy into physical matter, and it can be pictured as a spinning kaleidoscope of colour, light symbols, and sound. The life lessons you meet are tied to a particular area of focus and growth that belongs to each energy centre. The air around you is alive with vital force, and when your chakras are open, that energy flows through you and supports mental clarity, emotional balance, physical well-being, and spiritual renewal.
Let me tell you something that most teachers of the 12 centres never say. Beloved ones, the doorways of the body open for anyone who practices alone, but the doorways beyond the body open most easily in company. Energy centres respond to resonance, and resonance is built in circles, not in isolation. This is why our councils have always taught in gatherings. Now, the heart of the system is still ahead. How open or closed these doorways are depends on your beliefs, your attitudes, and the way you interpret life. Fear tightens the centres while breath, beauty, love, and laughter open them wide. Opening your chakras is like giving your inner home a deep spring cleaning. When energy moves through the body, it stirs up the hidden issues that quietly steer your life. Meeting those deep beliefs can be hard, yet it is also freeing to let go of whatever has been holding you back. No time is better than the present for this work. To face the truth of these times, let your chakras open and allow cosmic energies full of knowledge and information to run through your body like a fresh cool stream of crystal clear water bubbling with life. This will refresh your spirit and strengthen your whole life.
Why the doorways are opening now.
Hear this, beloved ones. There is no better time than now. The frequency of your world is rising, and when the frequency of a world rises, every doorway within its people feels the pressure of it. Doors that were stuck for years begin to creek. Feelings that were buried begin to rise. This is not a sign that you are breaking. It is a sign that the doors are ready to open. Treat yourself with the tenderness you would offer a child who has just woken from a long sleep. We will walk through all 12 now, one by one, and for each we will give you a simple and gentle practice.
Think of the 12 as a tree. The root and the lower centres are the roots and the trunk. The heart is the great branching and the upper three are the leaves reaching toward the light. The five cosmic chakras are the sky around the tree, and the Earth is the soil beneath it. A tree does not argue with its own growth. It simply receives water, sun, and time. Treat your centres in the same way.
The First Chakra sits at the base of the spine where a fiery serpent-like energy called Kundalini rests. It is the seat of your power, and its main lessons are about identity and survival. Some people spend entire lifetimes working through the lessons of this root centre. Large bank accounts and important positions can be useful, but what truly matters is the kind of person you are, the quality of your relationships with family and friends. and the virtues that define who you are. When you trust and love yourself, energy flows into the first chakra, strengthens your self-worth, and transforms the primal fear of not surviving in the physical body.
Ashtar's guidance for the root:
The root is the foundation of the house of your being. When it is steady, you feel at home in your body and on this Earth. When it trembles, even your wisest thoughts have nowhere to land. Our counsel is simple. Return to the ground. Stand barefoot on the Earth when you can. Feel the weight of your feet and say quietly, "I am safe. I belong here. This Earth is my home.” Eat warm, real food and keep a gentle rhythm to your days. The serpent energy of Kundalini sleeps here for a reason and it should never be forced awake. It will rise on its own like a tide when your foundation is ready.
The Second Chakra, the sacral centre. The second chakra, or sacral centre, is located below the navel and it is the centre of emotion, creativity and the sweetness of life. It governs your relationship with pleasure, with intimacy, and with the feelings that move through you like water. When this centre is open, you enjoy your senses and your creative gifts without shame. When it is closed, you may feel numb, restless, or ruled by guilt. The lessons here involve learning to honour desire and emotion as natural currents and allowing creative energy to flow through you as art, play, and love.
Ashtar's guidance for the sacral centre:
Move like water. Dance in your kitchen, swim, walk beside a river, or simply sway to a song you love. Create something this week, a drawing, a meal, a poem, and do not judge it. Forgive yourself for the pleasures you were taught to be ashamed of and release the guilt that is not yours. A flowing sacral makes the whole system sweeter. Mastering the energy of each chakra means being grounded in your personal responsibilities. When you recognize the lessons that belong to each centre, the way opens for cosmic energies to link all of them together and connect you with the web of existence.
The Third Chakra or solar plexus is the centre of feeling, intuition, and willpower. A kind of brain in your belly. Paying attention to this centre is vital when you make decisions because your body holds a store of inner knowledge about your life and about events in this world and beyond. Learn to listen to your body and honour the feelings that register in your gut by understanding the purpose and function of your third chakra.
Ashtar's guidance for the solar plexus:
Place a warm hand on your belly before any important decision and ask quietly, "What do I truly feel?” Wait. The answer often comes as a tightening or a softening long before the mind has words for it. Honour that signal and then check it with reason and with the counsel of people you trust. Your gut is a wise adviser, not a replacement for good sense. Sleep on large decisions. When you honour your feelings as a valuable tool for discerning reality, you can quickly grasp the subtle details of almost any situation.
The Fourth Chakra or heart centre sits at the midpoint of the physical body and balances all the chakras above and below it with lessons about emotional intelligence. Here you can shut life out or blossom into compassion. This is the place where you can know another being as another version of yourself. Compassion is a refined emotional achievement that opens your body to connect with the cosmos on a deep spiritual level. Opening the heart can sometimes feel frightening because when it is wide open, you can feel out of control, flooded with empathic information. This centre of great knowledge can bring both daunting and exhilarating experiences. Love rules the heart and rightly so. The real test of life on Earth is to pass everything you meet through your heart chakra, welcoming the wonderful variety of life without judgment. The heart centre is so often shut because of a learned fear that has taught you to be wary of this potential psychic connection.
Ashtar's guidance for the heart:
The heart is the bridge between the lower three centres and the upper three and it is the centre of the entire system. Open it gently. Each evening place a hand over your heart and name three things you are grateful for. Then name one person you are ready to forgive, even a little. Breathe slowly five times as though you were breathing in and out through the centre of your chest. If you feel overwhelmed by the feelings of others, remember that compassion does not require you to carry another's pain. Know their pain with love and then let it flow through you and away. An open heart needs good boundaries and good support. When the heart is closed, it becomes easier to cause harm or to deceive others because the connection to all life is switched off. That is why an appreciation of life's beauty is so important for opening the heart.
The Fifth Chakra or throat centre is of great importance because here you use the creative power of speech to express your thoughts and emotions and bring them into reality. Through this centre, you learn the power of words, of speaking your truth and sharing your ideas. A loose, relaxed jaw keeps this chakra open so that communication flows with grace and ease. A clenched jaw points to a hidden need to control the natural flow of expression. Breath is the key to this chakra. Focus on any of your chakras and breathe in a steady rhythm like the sound of wind in a cave at the back of your throat and it will open to greater perceptual awareness. The lessons of the fifth chakra are about freeing yourself from doubts and worries about criticism and condemnation for speaking your mind. Truth can only be manipulated when you are afraid of your own power.
Ashtar's guidance for the throat:
Speak one true sentence today. It does not need to be dramatic. It may be as simple as “I need some quiet” or “I love you” or “I disagree and I still respect you.” Truth spoken kindly is medicine for the throat. Hum a note for one minute and feel the vibration in your chest and throat. Relax your jaw. Let your tongue rest and breathe slowly. If words are hard for you, write them first, then read them aloud when you are ready. Every sentence you speak with honesty widens the door.
The Sixth Chakra is called the third eye, and it sits on the brow between the eyes. This centre influences the complex chemistry of the pineal gland, and it works as a tool for opening your awareness to simultaneous time. The third eye is an opening into non-physical reality, a treasured gateway to the inner world, and an unlimited source of knowledge. This centre is tied to the experience of greatly enhanced perception. Its lessons involve overcoming the fear of knowing what your heightened senses perceive so that you can tap into the mysteries revealed through the growth of inner sight.
Ashtar's guidance for the third eye:
Sit quietly for 5 minutes each day. Close your eyes and rest your attention gently on the space between your brows. Do not strain and do not chase visions. Simply watch what arises. Keep a small notebook by your bed for dreams because the third eye often speaks first in sleep. If you see colours or lights, receive them calmly as you would receive a passing cloud. Inner sight should always feel peaceful and safe.
The Seventh Chakra or the top of your head/crown centre is a dynamic centre that links the physical nervous system with the cosmic mind. Your nervous system coordinates all the organs and structures of the body and acts like a radio receiver for internal and external signals. In truth, it reaches out from the brain into the ether in fine ribbons of gold as light-encoded filaments that connect you to other layers of reality. The lessons of this centre are many-sided, and they mainly involve keeping the delicate balance of integrity needed for journeys between physical and non-physical reality. Every energy centre works in harmony with the others, and when you open your mind and heart to greater possibilities, you make more room for vibrant cosmic energies to enter your body and enrich your life.
Ashtar's guidance for the crown:
The crown is a doorway of surrender, not of escape. Begin with silence. Sit for a few minutes each day with nothing to achieve and simply be. Offer a prayer of thanks in your own tradition or in your own words. Live with integrity because the crown opens most easily for those whose actions match their values. And stay grounded as you open. Walk outdoors, eat well, and keep your feet on the Earth, for a crown that opens without a root can leave you dizzy and ungrounded. Balance is the secret of every doorway.
Five more centres of energy lie outside your physical form, far beyond it. Like the seven in the body, these cosmic chakras are pulsating vortices of kaleidoscopic colour, light symbols, and sound which you use to understand who you are in relation to all of existence. To navigate and explore them, creative imagery is important. Cities, states, and nations are imaginary identifiers that give structure to a reality based on Earth. Maps describe reality, but they are not reality. You cannot spend the night in another part of the country by pointing at a place on a map. Without maps and markings, you could not tell one boundary from another. In the same way, creative imagery can help you explore a reality that seems out of reach. On Earth, flowers are loved and treasured for their rich beauty. They excite you. They carry powerful life force. They open your chakras and they are often used as symbols to express your deepest feelings.
The five flowers beyond the body - the Cosmic Multi-dimensional Chakras
Now we leave the boundaries of the body. Imagine a map of a country you have never visited. You cannot sleep on the map, but the map helps you travel. The flowers that follow are your map for the five cosmic doorways. Do not worry if you cannot feel them clearly at first or if the flowers feel like pictures. A picture held with feeling becomes a bridge and a bridge walked many times becomes a road. Begin by imagining each flower in its place above you glowing softly and let your imagination be the first step of your journey. The imagination is not a lie. It is the language that the higher centres speak first. Linking the cosmic multi-dimensional chakras with particular flowers gives you images to explore the many non-physical sides of your identity.
The Eighth Chakra lies 12 inches to 3 feet above the body and is linked with the lily. This trumpet-shaped portal is a transducer of energy for the other cosmic chakras, stepping down light frequencies and channelling that knowledge into the many layers of the physical and non-physical body. Imagine a white lily floating just above your body, its trumpet open, receiving a stream of pale light from far above. Breathe in as it receives and breathe out as it pours that light through every layer of you. Spend one minute with the lily and notice if your body feels larger, calmer, or more connected. In essence, it forms the non-physical link to an identity larger than the boundaries of the physical form.
The Ninth Chakra gives your consciousness great mobility. Its symbol is the moon flower because its function is to connect you with everything that happens between the Earth's atmosphere and the moon, including the powerful magnetic energies that join the two spheres. Now lift your attention a little higher to a pale moon flower opening in the evening light. Imagine yourself rising gently above the Earth and looking back at the blue world glowing in the dark. Notice how small your worries become from there. This is the gift of the ninth centre perspective and a sense of belonging to something much larger than a single day. This energy centre offers a view of Earth from space and widens your perception of your place in the cosmic scheme of life. Through it, you can explore the timeline of Earth where you have lived again and again like bouncing up and down on a trampoline, taking part in life and then observing its intricate wonders.
The Tenth Chakra represented by the sunflower is your solar chakra. It extends your consciousness anywhere in your solar system from the sun to beyond Pluto. The sun is the ruler of your system because it sustains and fuels life by providing the light frequencies along which life-giving energy and information travel. The sunflower centre is also very mobile, and it uses the sun as its focal point. It recognizes cosmic information as the source of your growing knowledge. Throughout history, people have aligned their consciousness with the sun to receive inspiration for new ideas and to reach information. Some even hid from the sun because they felt its rays could read their minds, and if they wanted to keep secrets, they chose to work in the dark. Let your attention rise to the sunflower turning its face toward the sun. Feel the warmth of the sun on your face, even if you are indoors, and imagine its golden light flowing into you. Ask for inspiration and then wait. The best ideas often arrive after you have stopped trying. Keep a notebook nearby because the solar centre speaks in sudden bright flashes.
The Eleventh Chakra is your galactic chakra, best represented by the red rose, which is the favourite flower on Earth for symbolizing and expressing love. Your consciousness can explore the galaxy by moving this centre anywhere within the Milky Way. Yet, in the end, the heart centre will call you home to the birthplace of everything that has come through its portal of creation. Now imagine a red rose opening slowly in the centre of a spiral of stars. This is your galactic centre and its message is love. Feel yourself as one small star in a vast and loving family of stars. You are not alone in this galaxy, and you never were. Let the rose open until you feel it in your heart for the heart chakra and the galactic chakra are old friends. The galactic centre connected to the intelligence of your galaxy opens your consciousness to understanding how clusters of light truly work.
The Twelfth Chakra connects you to realities beyond your own galaxy, stretching your identity far into the vast expanse of the universe, which is considered a single field containing everything that appears to exist. The universal chakra is best symbolized by the purple echinacea whose cone is a mathematical marvel of spirals that reflect the golden mean, the obvious design of life. Time seems to run backward in the universe because of your current perceptions and beliefs about light and time. Radio astronomy has produced photographs of the far-reaching cosmos that show events from long, long ago, offering a glimpse into a mystifying past. The 12th chakra serves as an open door into that past and as an intriguing window for exploring simultaneous time.
Finally, imagine a purple echinacea, its spiral cone turning, each seed placed in perfect order. This is the doorway to the universe, to the oldest light and to simultaneous time. Let it open gently with no expectation. Sit in its quiet. When you are ready, bring your attention back to your body, to your breath, to the room around you, and press your feet to the floor. Always return fully before you stand.
The 12-breath journey.
Here is a practice that joins all 12 doorways in about 15 minutes.
Sit comfortably with your back supported.
Take three slow breaths. Begin at the root and breathe once into each centre from the base of the spine to the crown, naming its gift quietly. Safety, creativity, intuition, love, truth, vision, wisdom.
Then breathe once into each flower above you. The lily, the moon flower, the sunflower, the rose, and the echinacea.
Rest for a minute in the stillness of the whole system as one tall column of light rooted in the Earth and open to the stars.
Then return. Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Open your eyes slowly and drink a glass of water.
Never rush and never force. If you feel dizzy, anxious, or unwell at any time, stop and rest. A practice should never hurt you. Practice a few times a week and let the doorways open on their own schedule.
A word for the days when nothing seems to open. Some days you will sit down to practice and feel nothing at all. This is not failure. Some days the doors are resting. Do not measure your progress by sensations, but by the quality of your life. Whether you are a little kinder, a little more honest, and a little more at peace than you were a month ago, that is the true sign that your doorways are opening. And on the days that feel heavy, a walk, a glass of water, and a call to a friend are worth more than any technique.
The chakras are served by ordinary acts of care. The doors were always yours. And so, beloved ones, you have now walked through all 12 doorways, seven within your body and five beyond it. Remember that these centres are not a task to be completed. They are a home to be lived in. Every kind word, every deep breath, and every moment of honest feeling is a hand turning a key. Be patient with the doors that stay closed. They are closed for reasons that were once wise and they will open when you feel safe.
